Creating this logo for Stanley Clarke’s Roxboro Entertainment Group was a real creative opportunity
The Roxboro references the Roxborough area of Philadephia where Stanley Clarke lived as a youth. The primary design was originally just a wordmark. For the launch of the site and the company we thought it would be good to create something ‘fun’ in the form of a graphic and video. I spent some researching the Roxborough area and thought it would be interesting to incorporate the rowhouses in the style that are a fixture of that community, along with the skyline of the city of Philadelphia. In the video version, the lights of the houses methodically come on, after which, a door opens and a symbolic version of Stanley appears holding a bass as the artwork zooms back to reveal the skyline and the full logo.
