When I was asked to create a new Stanley Clarke merch line, I thought it was important to create designs that represented the full gamut of his pioneering 50+ year career in the music world. It was important to pay homage to the early years as well as the more recent years which demonstrate his relevance on so many levels in his multi-dimensional career as a composer, musician, film, and studio music producer.
I set out to create designs for a range of products for the many of generations of fans that make up the Stanley Clarke fanbase. On the other hand, we wanted the designs to serve as an introduction to potential new fans. I thought it was important to give each product a unique look and colors that would give them an individual appeal that could be embraced.
